Unsolved since their bodies were discovered in a Milwaukee recording studio in 2007, the investigation of the murders of Yolanda "LaLa" Brown and her boyfriend Je Tannue Clayborn has been thrown back into the national spotlight after the show America's Most Wanted featured the story of their murder on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
La La Brown was an Aspiring R&B Star
LaLa Brown was 21 years old at the time of her murder and was an aspiring R&B Star who was the female singer on Lyfe Jennings hit song, S.E.X., which fans have praised is an inspiring song encouraging youth to wait before "giving it up". The song earned a spot on the Top 10 R&B singles list in 2006.
Yolanda "La La" Brown was Found Murdered
Police estimate that both Yolanda Brown and her bofriend 22 year old Je Tannue Clayborn were dead for at least 24 hours before being discovered in their Milwaukee recording studio back on October 19, 2007. Je Tannue Clayborn, 22 years old, was also Yolanda Brown's Producer. Milwaukee police reported that the couple was found in the Loud Enuff Productionz Studio at 55th Street and Lisbon. Both LaLa Brown and Je Tannue Clayborn had apparently died from gunshot wounds.
No Arrests Have Been Made in the Death of La La Brown
It has been reported that La La Brown told friends that she had been receiving death threats earlier in the week before she died in late October 2007, but this statement is not possible to confirm. The property, Loud Enuff Productionz Studio was both the production studio and the home of La La Brown and was robbed earlier in the week. One hypothesis is that the criminals who robbed the studio earlier in the week returned to finish off the job.
America's Most Wanted Features the Death of La La Brown
In an effort to find the murderer of Yolanda La La Brown and her Producer boyfriend Je Tannue Clayborn, authorities agreed to allow the show America's Most Wanted to feature the investigation on their show in an attempt to solve the murder. The show aired Saturday night, February 20, 2010 and their is hope that new leads will develop.
After three years, the death of La La Brown and Je Tannue Clayborn are still unsolved and this is a crime that should not go unpunished. La La Brown was shot in her recording studio just as she was beginning to rise to stardom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the talent of La La Brown was wasted.
